The Arkansas Department of Health requires that no water shall be provided to
any newly constructed residential, commercial, or industrial building until all
plumbing has been inspected and approved by the licensed Plumbing
Inspector for the District, or the State Plumbing Inspector for Garland County.
A fee of $100.00 is charged for this inspection. Typically that will include four
inspections, a rough in slab inspection, a top out inspection, a water service
inspection, and a final inspection.
The meter will not be set until the inspection fee has been paid.
Plumbing shall not be covered until inspections have been approved.
Job meters will not be set until the meter deposit and anticipated inspection fees
are paid, and approved vacuum breakers are installed on any water outlets.
Water outlets found to be in violation will be removed from service!
The District is responsible for maintenance only to the meter. The customer is
responsible from the meter to the residence or business.
